Rob Inaudible is John Bailey. John Bailey is Rob Inaudible. This may come as a shock to you, but my name is not actually Rob. I was told I look like a Robert once, but that guy had no idea what he was talking about. I look way more like a Brian.

Am I supposed to write this in 3rd person or 1st person? It seems kind of weird that musician "about" sections are almost certainly written by the musician themselves, yet they talk about themselves in 3rd person. Anyways.

I'm a musician from Gainesville, Florida. I grew up in the 90s and 00s on alt rock and pop punk (Eels, Third Eye Blind, Smashing Pumpkins, Blink-182, etc.) and started writing music in middle school. In college I drifted toward indie acts like Death Cab for Cutie and The Shins and got my first MacBook to start learning music software. Later in college I got into EDM (Madeon, Deadmau5, Porter Robinson) and started releasing some electronic music and remixes under the moniker "d1g1." The music never really went anywhere, but that's okay. I learned a lot making it.

For the better part of a decade I kept writing music. Lots and lots of unfinished songs and scrapped projects. Until I finally released the Rob Inaudible EP in summer 2024 and the reception was more than I expected. It gave me the confidence to go full steam ahead with my first full album, Hatch, in early 2025. Since then I've been building toward whatever comes next.
